Step 1 Try to read the words
1. Students manage to read the words using the phonetics by themselves and underline the words they can’t read.
2. Students read the words with their partners in groups and talk about the difficult words.
3.Get some individual students to read the words and ask other students to correct the pronunciation. Then follow the teacher to read the words clearly.
4. Read after the tape and pay attention to the pronunciation.
5. Ask students to read the words together and then read aloud freely.
【设计意图】根据音标学习并记忆单词是一项很重要的英语学习技能。首先学生自己根据音标识读单词,并标出识读时有困难的单词,接着以同位或小组为单位解决遇到的困难。然后找不同层次的同学读单词,请会读的学生先纠正,还有问题,教师再更正。然后让学生跟录音读,反复几遍,让学生注意一些较难单词的发音。最后让学生自由出声读。这样有助于培养学生根据音标自主学习单词的能力,也能让学生之间相互帮助进行小组合作学习,老师在关键时刻进行指导,做到以学生为主体,教师为主导。

【设计意图】通过图片、词义、语音、构词法、思维图等学习单词的方法,可以帮助学生学习单词,有助于学生英语思维的形成。用各种方法和手段将知识点呈现给学生,可以吸引学生的兴趣,降低学习难度,扩大学生的词汇量。
Step 3 Consolidation of words
Get students a few minutes to memorize the words first.
1. Give students to read the words by Chinese then look at Chinese and say English.
2. Then get students to spell and write down the words with Chinese. Underline the words they haven’t grasped.
3. Get students to have a dictation of the important words and phrases. If they can’t, dictate after class in groups.
【设计意图】学生先读英语说汉语,然后看着汉语说英语,并且边读边拼写,标出不会读的单词重点记忆,最后进行听写,有利于对单词的巩固。而对于少数课上不能完全掌握的学生,需要利用自习课或课余的时间让小组长跟踪检查,达到人人过关。
Step 4 Read a story and translate
The weather forecast. Good morning! It’s Sunday today. Here’s the weather report for some big cities in the world. Beijing is cloudy. You can’t have a short vacation in the park. It’s very cold, so wear warm clothes when you go out. You can skate on the river. In Moscow there’s beautiful sunshine. People will feel cool in the daytime. It is sunny in Toronto, but there’s a strong wind in the afternoon. It will be rainy in Boston but very hot. The day after tomorrow will be sunny. That’s the weather report for today. Thank you for listening.
Try to find out the new words first. Then let the students read and try to translate the story.
【设计意图】这篇天气预报包括本单元所学的大部分单词,在掌握好单词的基础上,通过语境学习单词。为学生学习、实践和运用英语创造了条件,有助于学生有效记忆和使用英语词汇。
Step 5 Retell the story according to the mind map
T: I can see you have understood the story well. Now let’s try to retell it according to the mind map. First listen to me carefully.
Ss listen carefully. Then they try to retell in groups. Check the retelling.
【设计意图】本段文章是以天气为话题,巧妙地把本单元的词汇融入其中,用知识树的形式呈现既直观又实用,能很好地帮助学生把故事串成一个整体,这样既巩固了新单词又锻炼了学生在语境中理解和记忆单词的能力,也体现了词不离句,句不离篇的教学理念。

【设计意图】练习的设计由易到难,是循序渐进的,通过习题的检测,可以了解学生的单词掌握情况。最后把单词放在句子中,有利于学生在语境中掌握单词。

2.运用各种图片作提示,引导学生学习新单词,调动了学生的积极性。
3.本课天气预报的小故事也是一个亮点,它包括了本单元所学部分的单词,利用一个小故事,学习了本单元的单词,并且放在语境中学习,有利于形成篇章意识,体现了“词不离句,句不离篇”的教学理念。
【使用建议】
提前准备课件及需要的图片,让学生通过多媒体形象的进行学习。复述环节优生可当堂完成,允许后进生第二天晨读后完成。
